Interior & Exterior Painting

We specialise in interior and exterior painting for new builds and renovations. Our team use a combination of spray painting and traditional painting techniques to complete your project efficiently and to an excellent standard.

If you’re not sure which colour to choose, we can give you a hand with recommendations to suit your project.

Wallpaper Hanging

If your interior plan includes a feature wall or full-coverage wallpaper, we can take care of the wallpaper hanging at the same time as the painting.

Lead Removal

Older weatherboard houses often come with an unexpected surprise: lead paint. Removing lead paint is a specialised process, and if it’s not done properly it can put your family, pets, and the environment at risk. We’re specialists in safely removing and disposing of lead paint.

Plastering

We take care of the patch-ups and Gib stopping that are required for a fantastic finish, reducing lost time and keeping your project moving smoothly.

Waitaha Painting & Decorating

Waitaha Painting & Decorating was established in 2021. It’s our mission to be World Famous in Canterbury for delivering captivating colour and exceptional customer service.

Owner Liss Rutene discovered a love for painting and decorating in 2016 after enrolling in a pre-trade course at Ara Institute of Canterbury. Six years later, she’s come full circle and now tutors at Ara in painting and decorating. Liss began studying to learn how to paint her own house, and quickly found that she’d discovered a new passion and a new career. After spending 5 years on the tools and becoming a trade qualified painter, Liss went out on her own and founded Waitaha Painting & Decorating with the support of friends and whānau.

Waitaha Painting & Decorating is built on Liss’s attention to detail, commitment to working collaboratively with clients and suppliers, and passion for captivating with colour.
